Day 57. – Ceres

Ceres are Australian underground music in its purest form. second time I’ve seen them now and both shows have been incredible, almost as good as their latest album. To add to this the Melbourne group have some good on stage banter which drives home that entertainment factor. *note to self: buy a flash.

Day 56 – Bondi Bowl

The bowl didn’t stand a chance. This thing is huge, and these kids killed it. story time: finished up my day surfing the rescue board when I see some crazy foreigner has decided to swim to the shark nets at dusk. After paddling the 1km out to this fearless guy and hearing his justification on…

Day 49. – Shark Spotted

It’s 13℃. I’m dripping wet. My wetsuit is shotgunned with holes and I cant feel toes. And i’ve never felt better. Also, just when my day couldn’t get any better I meet Ruby the Sharkdog.

Day 47. – Jervis Bay

I’m not sure if I’m in the ACT or NSW, either way we performed a hit and run on the most peaceful place in Limbo. Sunsets/sunrises, volleyball and beach caves filled the two days of adventures. Also I found a baby beach Scorpion.

Day 45. – The Last Patrol

For me, the final signal that summer is well and truely over is the last Bondi patrol. This morning included a beach race and a ride on the IRB (inflatable ducky). With smiles all round the weather hit 27℃ and great swell conditions followed. The end of seasons is next week but from tomorrow i’ll…

Day 42 – Cabin Fever

No time to explain just get in!… We’re going to travel through time on a musical journey. If this confuses you it’s probably because you didn’t attend the Hunter Valley Hot Dub Wine Machine event last weekend. With a torrential downpour forecast it did limit how far the camera could travel, but didn’t limit the amount…

Day 41 – Rain

Sideways rain, messy swell and large rips made for an interesting training session this morning. Add this to a pitch black 6.10am start made for an interesting morning. I’ve been waiting for a good day to shoot black and white. With not much activity on the beach from the storm today was the time to…

Day 40. – Training

Back out on the water today for a crunching training session. Good life choice to finish early and solo paddle out to the shark nets for sunrise [Note To Self: Bring GoPro]. Once again – the Bondi traffic was chaos but luckily the cars are cool. Like these two snapped below:

Day 38. – Mountain Sounds Festival

It’s my birthday month, to celebrate we headed across to the rain soaked Mountain Sounds Festival. Luckily, the show goes on even when surrounded by lightning, buckling wind and sideways rain. I wanted to focus on the festival goers.. Mostly because I couldn’t get close enough to shoot the bands. Below are the moments that a large storm…

Day 35. – Savage

This weekend coming is going to be more savage than a Turnbull v. Shorten rant. With 39℃ and 41℃ expected on Sat/Sun, I figured this Friday morning would be the calmest it could be. Recapping this week we also saw Trumfs travel ban lifted, which is a ray of sunlight on what seems like amateur hour in the…

Day 34. – Rough Seas

Getting out of bed was extra hard this morning only to be rewarded with 20laps in a washing machine. But Bronte was full of big waves, bright characters and seeing the sun came as a surprise – she’s been tucked under a blanket of clouds for the last few days. Reflections Big Splash laps w/lads…

Day 31. – Night pool

Overcast and bland – I had through it would be hard to capture any colour or emotion today. Instead of the AM session I usually shoot, this afternoon became a sunset laps session. A new addition is the Bronte pool night light which means late night swims are now possible. c-old Rats with wings Dancing Colours…

Day 30. – Burning Bliss

It was a sauna last night and one hungry mosquito wasn’t holding back. So guess who didn’t sleep – me (along with most of Sydney). 6am kick off at Bondi – training today involved ~4km of board paddling with the team. It’s a monster hot day, stay shady friends.
