Day 93. – 38 Patrol

It’s 38 degrees, the tide is flowing out. But we’re highly trained and overstaffed. Which means we get to surf and roam the beach finding rescues. I bought the new drone along with a darker filter on my lens. Pretty happy with how the photos came out.

Day 92. Good Monday

Start the week off sky-high with a few early morning aerials. Today will be one of those no clouds no wind kind of days. Great for the beach.
-
Day 91. – Waterhole

Quick, drop by Garie Beach and then we’re heading to Winifred Falls to float around the reservoir. Great sunshine and an even greater time! Plus I only lost the Martin the Mavic (my drone) once.
-
Day 90. – Loud and Lamborghini

It’s Thursday, Bin Day. The loudest morning of them all. The only morning I’m forced away. Luckily today on the beach we had clouds, waves, and an unreleased Lamborghini photoshoot. A little about this Lambo, it’s called the Urus and it’s not Lambo’s first SUV attempt (which was called the LM002 and resembled a very…

Day 89. – Camp Coastal

$80 – Tent. $20 – Air Mattress. $0 – Camping Pass SOLD OUT. Okay, lets just find a secret beach spot and hope the tide doesn’t come up too much further. Remembering to rise early because the South has too much to see and do!

Day 88. – Is That Rain?

Those storm clouds are getting closer. I’m sure it will be fine… It wasn’t fine.
-
Day 87. – Sunrise And A Skate

Summer is on the way out. The sun is now in a completely different position and extending dusk an extra 30mins. But that didn’t stop the skaters putting in a session for Bowl-A-Rama is this weekend – all the kids are down getting in the last few sessions before the competition kicks off.
-
Day 86. – How To Start A Birthday

Kickoff the morning off right with a surf and a very quick training session. Is that a twinge in my shoulder? can’t be.. Not allowed to get injured on my birthday. Now go to work and have a long lunch – finish the day off with close friends and family for din dins.
-
Day 85. – Mac Pass

Get up early, stay quiet to not wake the housemates. Pack the camera, laptop and snacks. We’re heading on a day trip south.
-
Day 84. – Hi, From Bondi Beach

Hi from Bondi, With no clouds, a perfect water temperature and more tourists than locals. The beach has always got your back.
-
Day 83. – Solo Sunrise

It was like any other Tuesday. Expecting the waves to break nicely and clear Bondi water. Which is exactly what happened. For Christmas, my sister picked me up a new GoPro mount and today was a pretty good day to trial it (more to come).

Day. 82 – Still-ness

It’s early.. and the sunrise won’t stop beaming through my window. Maybe I’ll get up and catch up with the paddle training group, then come back and nap? Maybe I’ll just sleep in…
-
Day 80. – New Year Same Beach

With somewhere between 20 to 25 thousand beachgoers coming through, the patrol today racked up 64 Rescues and 350 First Aids (mostly from the bluebottle swam) Plus a heli-rescue on the south cliffs. Today was a monster effort on the beach – Got a few good photos on sundown of the (exhausted) patrol members.
-
Day 79. – Rainy Cedar Creek

It’s too hot and the rain is on the way.. hopefully, we’ll make it to the rope swing before the storm hits. Cedar Creek Falls is a long string of waterfalls each unique in size and depth.
-
Day 78. – Burnt Retinas

If you’ve missed the morning swim it’s too late – Stay indoors now, It’s 7.34am, 28 degrees humid and glary outside. I did manage to snap these few overexposed shots before cutting a quick lap swim on the beach.
-
Day 77. – Someday Somewhere

Someday I’ll leave Sydney – buy a van and travel a coastline for a year or two. Until then, I’ll stay shooting these NSW beaches. Today Jonny and Ed say goodbye to a good friend of theirs, sending him off with a final surf (.. on the flattest day i’ve seen)
-
Day 76. – Flying High

Getting those high angles on the drone! something new in is the works – stay tuned. Also lightening storm to finish off the day put on a great show.
-
Day 68. – Figure 8 Pools

It was the best day of 2017′ yesterday and Figure 8 Pools was the place to spend it. Packing camera’s, speakers and snorkels – we headed for the spot located along the coastline of the Royal National Park.
-
Day 66. – Rain//forests

It’s been too long since I’ve had leeches housed up on cold muddy feet – Today we found ourselves stuck and seeking shelter from a storm under the Macquarie Pass waterfall. Even in the wet that national park is a good amount of fun, danger and mud.
-
Day 65. – A. Monday

I used to think after a wave spilt onto the sand the water would sink down and go underground. It doesn’t FYI, there are no secret underground beaches where crustaceans get pitted in surfing comps.. It simply flows back into the sea.
-
Day 64. – Splash On Sunday

Woke up at stupid AM today – decided instead of rolling back to bed i’d do a sunrise walk around Bondi/Bronte. I’m thinking of upgrading the camera equipment soon – Possibly a drone or underwater housing!?
-
Day 63. – It’s A Secret Spot

..it’s not really. It’s just a great bushwalk into a quiet and secluded beach. With silent sailboats and ripples on the shore, this weekend was a well-needed beach house get away from reality.
-
Day 62. – 32nd Of Sept

It’s going to be 32 degrees today. No wind & no clouds. Kicking the morning off with a surf to the shark nets and back. It’s a big day with big decisions coming up! Can’t wait for this weekend to start.
-
Day 60. – Sky High

Oh shit, I forgot. I left the oven on… I have around 7mins to shoot this and get back to make my enchiladas. Bondi Kite Festival is freaking unreal as thousands make their way to the beach to watch the hundreds of kites.
-
Day 59. – Pools

Back in the country and back to business – Karloo Pools to dodge these cold winds coming through. The pool was too cold for a dip but it’s good to know this place exists – will visit again soon, with an inflatable and several beers.
-
Day 57. – Ceres

Ceres are Australian underground music in its purest form. second time I’ve seen them now and both shows have been incredible, almost as good as their latest album. To add to this the Melbourne group have some good on stage banter which drives home that entertainment factor. *note to self: buy a flash.
-
Day 56 – Bondi Bowl

The bowl didn’t stand a chance. This thing is huge, and these kids killed it. story time: finished up my day surfing the rescue board when I see some crazy foreigner has decided to swim to the shark nets at dusk. After paddling the 1km out to this fearless guy and hearing his justification on…
-
Day 55. – Trippin’

I’m coming to pick you up. Just booked a last minute AirBnb down at Jervis Bay and we’re leaving in 10mins. Stopping via Kelly Falls and Cave Beach – this weekend was a cold but good one. 👍🏼
-
Day 54. – Turrets

It’s warm.. too warm.. something isn’t right. This winter is shaping up to be better than Summer. Not a cloud in the sky today – perfect day for a surf and to check out a few old military turrets.
-
Day 51. – Blurry Lights

It’s that winter time of year – it’s also the time when Sydney harbour becomes a light show for Vivid. I’m still not entirely sold on this festival; It’s not interactive enough. Wouldn’t it be mind-blowing to control the lights and shapes on the opera house? Or using the Vivid App to vote on what colour…
-
Day 49. – Shark Spotted

It’s 13℃. I’m dripping wet. My wetsuit is shotgunned with holes and I cant feel toes. And i’ve never felt better. Also, just when my day couldn’t get any better I meet Ruby the Sharkdog.
-
Day 45. – The Last Patrol

For me, the final signal that summer is well and truely over is the last Bondi patrol. This morning included a beach race and a ride on the IRB (inflatable ducky). With smiles all round the weather hit 27℃ and great swell conditions followed. The end of seasons is next week but from tomorrow i’ll…
-
Day 42 – Cabin Fever

No time to explain just get in!… We’re going to travel through time on a musical journey. If this confuses you it’s probably because you didn’t attend the Hunter Valley Hot Dub Wine Machine event last weekend. With a torrential downpour forecast it did limit how far the camera could travel, but didn’t limit the amount…
